Colorado Premier League Weekend Recap
Premier:
Premier beat FC Atlas Colorado 3-0. The team struggled to finish again but played a great last 30 minutes and got the result we deserved. Goals by Peter Jacobson, Jake lister, and Gus. A special shoutout to Jacob Peterson for a well deserved clean sheet. A huge result going into our next Open Cup game against Harpos. Check out the standings here.
United:
United played a game against the Colorado Rovers that was a very good learning experience. Missing two of our key defenders, we had to make adjustments. United conceded three goals in the first thirty minutes. At halftime, it was 4-0. We lost our heads and got two red cards, playing two men down. We ultimately conceded two more goals and lost 6-0. United still sit in 4th place, view the table here.
Masters:
Masters played an undefeated Boulder United FC. We both came out very organized and Brandon Best scored an incredible first time hit to put us up 1-0 going into halftime. During the second half, BUFC hit a great first-time volley to equalize. The game started to get chippy, and we were granted a penalty. Nick Wilson converted to put the game away. It ended 2-1. Legends:
In the first half, we played a relatively conservative but worked on linking up from the back and through the midfield. We should have finished a few chances but went into halftime tied 0-0.
The second half opened up a bit with Colfax sending more guys forward, which allowed us to catch them on the counter. Our first goal came early in the second half with Meza bring the ball down at the far post from a pinpoint cross from Dan and then finished nicely. The game got chippy thereafter with Stu and Javi both going down after late tackles from the Colfax crew. The last goal came with a few minutes left in the game — Jin and Kyle linked up for a nice give-and-go a midfield that freed Kyle up for a one v one with the keeper. Kyle kept his composure and beat the keeper on the dribble, and then cooly passed the ball into the back of the net — great goal man. View the table here.
